Correct answer to question 7008
- C: A GFCI receptacle marked No Equipment Ground
Explanation
Section 406.4(D)(2) (406.12(D) in NEC 2026) allows a nongrounding receptacle, a GFCI-type receptacle, or a grounding-type receptacle supplied through a GFCI where no grounding means exists. A GFCI receptacle used this way must be marked No Equipment Ground. Jumpering the ground terminal to the neutral is never allowed.
